Brian Beachkofski’s Inspiration

Brian Beachkofski’s Inspiration

Brian Beachkofski of Third Sector Capital Partners, Inc., says his introduction to evaluation began during his time at the Air Force Research Lab, where he was part of the team leading a transition from deterministic design practices to a probabilistic approach.

“This transition created the interesting research question: how do you validate estimates of event rates predicted to occur once in a million hours? Our framework using multi-level validation, historical data, and models was immediately transferable to our work at Third Sector,” says Brian.

“Our projects represent the predicted rates and we ask ourselves what [is] the most efficient way to identify the impact made on those being served.”
